The 45th Annual Fall Walleye Tournament on September 8 & 9 was a great success. Weather was great, a variety of nice size fish were caught and we appreciated those that fished doing catch & release.
We had an interesting occurrence. A walleye was released after being checked in and measured. An eagle flew over at the same time, caught the fish and flew off with it. A few minutes later,
one of the men helping at the dock took off in his truck to another tournament check in location. The eagle just happened to be flying in his direction, dropped the fish, he got out of his truck,
picked up the fish and got to enjoy it for dinner….eagle lost!!
Thank you to everyone who fished our tournament, to all the volunteers who helped out, and to the Gogebic Lodge for hosting our tournament.
Hopefully we will see you on September 13 & 14, 2024 at our tournament next year!
