Free Monthly Rod & Reel Giveaway On Lake Gogebic! The Lake Gogebic Area Chamber of Commerce has been running a monthly “Rod & Reel” Contest for several years, giving away many rod & reel sets over the years. Our contest runs from each May 15th to September 15th. Who ever has the largest walleye, bass, perch and northern each month wins! All you have to do is bring your fish, as soon as you catch it, into one of the check points on the lake; most business’ will help you out with that. We use the same point system that we use in our Spring and Fall Tournaments to rate the size of the fish. Each 15th of the month all the info is collected all around the lake and the winners are determined This Rod & Reel Giveaway is our way of thanking you for coming to Lake Gogebic and enjoying this great fishery. Secondly, it gives our fishing committee a good feel on how the lake is going. It also brings the fishermen into the check points/businesses where they get their fish entered in the contest and get a chance to do a little “fish talking” and meet some of the business owners and some of the locals. You never know, you just might find out about another “secret fishing hole”! Lake
